Andalucia wins Porto Meeting, three more records of the competition

The Andalucia Federation won has a team the 34th Porto International Meeting that took place this weekend at the  Campanhã Swimming Complex.

The Spanish team, that led the competition since the first session, summed up 1.134 points, followed by the Italian of Lombardia with 901,5 and the Danish of Aalborg with 389,5. Benfica was the best Portuguese team being in the fourth position with 330 points, followed by FC Porto with 328,5.

To the five meeting records of the first day three more were added this Sunday: Ana Catarina Monteiro (Fluvial Vilacondense) in the 200 butterfly with 2.10,32, very close to the national maximum (2.10,10) that belongs to her since March; Francisco Mateos (Andalucia) in the 400 medley (4.22,21); and Lombardia (Stefania Cartapani, Vanessa Cavagnoli, Alice Loffredo and Martina Fiorito) in the 4x50 medley (1.55,49).

Francisco Mateos (Andalucia) with 804 points in the 400 medley (4.22,21) and Paloma Garcia with 819 points in the 4x50 medley (28,92) were the swimmers with the best performances.

In the fight of the super-sprint, the winners were Roberto Camera (Lombardia) in the 50 breaststroke, Ana Catarina Monteiro (Fluvial Vilacondense) in the 50 butterfly, José Lopes (Sel. Júnior de Portugal) in the 50 backstroke and Camilla Ottesen (Aalborg) in the 50 freestyle.

Porto International Meeting, organized by the Associação de Natação do Norte de Portugal in partnership with Porto Lazer, was the fourth and last competition integrated in the first edition of the Portuguese-Andalucia track.
