Andalucia leads, five meeting records

The Andalucia Federation leads the team classification at the end of the first day of competition of the 34th  Porto International Meeting that is taking place at the Campanhã Swimming Complex.

The Spanish team sums up 552 points, followed by Lombardia with 447 and Aalborg with 201,5. Benfica is the best classified Portuguese team being fourth with 188,5 points.

During the session five new meeting records were established: Lombardia in the 4x50 freestyle (Veronica Neri, Sara Ongaro, Stefania Cartapani and Martina Fiorito) twice (1.47,34 in the preliminary heats and 1.46,40 in the final); Raquel Pereira (Algés e Dafundo) in the 200 breaststroke (2.30,29), Ilaria Cella (Lombardia) in the 400 freestyle (4.13,32); and Ana Catarina Monteiro (Fluvial Vilacondense) in the 100 butterfly (1.00,69).

In the fight of the super-sprint, the winners were Raquel Pereira (Algés e Dafundo) in the 50 breaststroke, Francesco Catalano (Lombardia) in the 50 butterfly, Paloma Garcia (Andalucia) in the 50 backstroke and Guilherme Dias (Benfica) in the 50 freestyle.

On Sunday the preliminary heats are at 09.00 a.m and the finals at 04.30 p.m.

Porto International Meeting, organized by the Associação de Natação do Norte de Portugal in partnership with Porto Lazer, is the fourth and last competition integrated in the first edition of the Portuguese-Andalucia track.
